Styled by Donato Coco at the Ferrari Styling Center with Pininfarina, the 458 Italia succeeded the F430, debuting at the September 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show with Ferrari’s latest Formula One-derived technologies. The aerodynamic package included deformable aeroelastic winglets in the front grille that deploy at higher speeds, providing increased downforce as needed. Although capable of exceeding 200 MPH, the 458 Italia was developed into the uprated 458 Speciale, a higher-performance variant produced for the 2014-15 model years. Enhancements included a more powerful 597 HP engine specification, forged wheels and a taller rear spoiler, yielding exceptional performance for road and track.
Finished in Bianco Avus, celebrating Ferrari’s 1-2-3 podium sweep at the 1959 German Grand Prix held at the AVUS circuit, a factory-painted tricolore racing stripe adds further distinction to this formidable modern Ferrari V-8 supercar. Offered with just 914 miles, this 458 Speciale’s stunning performance is courtesy of Ferrari’s 4.5L/597 HP V-8 engine, rated at 398 lb-ft of torque and enhanced by a 7-speed F1 dual-clutch automatic transmission, side-slip control, electronic differential, F1-Trac traction control and a new prefill braking function. Carbon fiber air vents are mounted to the front fenders.
The Nero Alcantara interior is handsomely complemented by Giallo technical fabric, carbon fiber accents and embroidered Ferrari Cavallino headrest stitching.
