Ultimate Ferrari's front-engined V12 models at the time, the Spider is even more desirable.~

  • When it was launched at the 1968 Paris Motor Show, the 365 GTB/4 'Daytona' was the ultimate incarnation of Ferrari's legendary front-engined V12 range. It was the most powerful two-seater GT and the fastest production car in the world, exceeding 270 km/h. Along with the Lamborghini Miura, it is rightly considered as one of the world's first supercars. ~
  • '13865' was delivered new to the Dino Ravasio & Figli dealership in Verona, Italy, on 17 October 1971. It left the factory in a rare configuration with a Bianco Polo paint finish and a Connoly Pelle Nera leather interior, and is one of the very last examples with a plexiglass strip covering the four fixed headlights. It remained in Italy for nearly 20 years before joining William Effinger's collection in Georgia in 1987, which is exclusively dedicated to the brand.~
  • It was during this period, between 1989 and 1990 to be precise, that Richard Straman was commissioned to transform it from a coupé into a spider. Our example was then fitted with pop-up headlights, a new red paint job with black upholstery and soft top, and Borrani wire wheels to replace the original Cromodora wheels. It was always serviced by the Ferrari FAF Motorcars dealership in Atlanta. ~
  • Returning to Europe in January 2008, 13865 retained its original engine and matching numbers. In the hands of a Belgian collector residing in England in 2016, several maintenance invoices can be found in its file at Foskers, a specialist in the brand in Kent. Among the documents that will be given to the buyer are a copy of its old American papers, an old British V5C registration document, its Massini report and a letter of authentication issued by Ferrari Classiche.~
  • Superb in its Grigio Ferro colour with a stunning natural leather interior, our example has undergone numerous recent expenses, including engine tuning, a complete overhaul of the running gear and a complete replacement of the exhaust system. The soft top is easy to operate and the car is a real pleasure to drive. Only 123 Spiders were produced under the factory's supervision, out of a total production of no more than 1,300 cars, all body types combined. 13865 represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a magnificent, well-maintained Daytona Spider for much less than an original Spider, or even its Berlinette version. ~
