The engine is truly a piece of artwork and of the highest quality. It was built by Doug Levin of Doug Levin Motorsports in Florida. It was his crowning achievement at the time, as no expense was spared. It took almost two years to build this engine, as Doug is a perfectionist. The original Viper engine was completely rebuilt from the ground up in 2003. This included custom internal components, custom valve train and the best Paxton supercharged inter-cooled system with custom computer. There are a total of 14 large fuel injectors, with four being used as part of the blower system and fed by a separate fuel cell in the trunk. Horsepower at rear wheels is 846.
