As one of a mere 3,300 Demon packages created during the single model release, this car is No. 1,603 of that group and shows just 565 miles since delivery; perhaps more impressive, the car comes with an unopened Demon Crate package and an extra set of new tires. The Demon immediately proved to be a stellar automobile for performance enthusiasts, garnering a reputation on the track after finding itself actually too fast for then-current NHRA rules. That was in no small part due to its supercharged 6.2L/808 HP Hemi V-8 engine with an earth-turning 717 lb-ft of torque, all of which is immediately available since this car is just passed the “red key” break-in threshold.
Fed by the Air Grabber hood, this engine is backed by the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, with traction readily available thanks to the Drag Mode suspension, line lock and after-run engine cooler. A set of large-caliper lightweight disc brakes do the job of slowing it down, with the bright red body accented by the widebody fender flares and Painted Black Satin Graphics Package. Unlike the Super Stockers of yore, there is enjoyment besides raw power inside this car.
In addition to the street suspension controls, this car has the Comfort Audio Group, the Demon logo Laguna leather/Alcantara heated and ventilated front seats, the rear seat option, the ParkView rear back-up camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and the AutoStik shifter with paddle control option. You’ll hear it breathing with the sound insulation delete, and this car rides on the OEM 18×11-inch aluminum wheels in black and a set of Nitto tires.
