With a history dating to 1967, Chevrolet’s Camaro musclecar was facing the end-of-the-line at the end of the 2002 model year. Rumors of its demise had been spreading for several years, and it culminated at this time. Chevrolet denoted the Camaro’s heritage as “Performance, American-style,” blending long-established rear-wheel drive with a pushrod V-8 engine. Looking as aggressive and powerfully built as ever, the Camaro was still a car that demanded a driver’s full attention; when you push the gas you feel the surge of pushed-back-in-your-seat power and when cornering quickly the back end may step out just enough to need your quick input for correction.

For the final year of the fourth generation Camaro, the public paid attention and the 2002 model sold very well. Of the 42,098 cars built, 12,906 of those had the Z28 package. The package included the 5.7-liter V-8 engine, 16-inch alloy rims and the option of a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Offered here is essentially a brand new example of the 12 year-old collectible. The odometer reads only 1,840 kilometers, and as expected, the car remains in near pristine showroom condition. It features the 325 horsepower engine with an automatic transmission, black leather upholstery, factory sound system and air conditioning.

The lack of use and preserved condition of this last year Camaro, plus original window sticker and additional documentation, will likely guarantee it as a future collectible and safe investment piece.
