Introduced in 1940, the Series 62 quickly became one of Cadillac’s most popular models for years to come. For 1941, Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell styled the Series 62 with a low beltline and the convertibles received a seemingly lower than average windshield treatment, creating a sporty, youthful look. Three chrome strakes lit up the front and rear fenders, sustaining the brightwork upon the hood and supporting the visual image laid out by the rocker moldings. The 346 CI V-8 engine delivered 150 HP, and the Series 62 proved a sales darling for 1941, with the convertible alone posting 3,100 units.

However, World War II ultimately suspended production of civilian cars on February 4, 1942, making 1941 the last full production year until the war was concluded. This 1941 Series 62 convertible is finished in blue with a tan convertible top and the expected brightwork dressing the body, including the bumpers and bumper guards, grille, window surrounds, twin sideview mirrors and much more. Rolling on wide whitewall tires with full-size wheel covers adorning steel wheels, this Series 62 features fender skirts bejeweled with the Cadillac emblem in red, while black rubberized stone guards protect the lower edges of the fenders.

The maroon leather interior features a dash clock, pushbutton AM radio, a wood-grain dashboard and more, creating a remarkably elegant environment with a touch of Art Deco flare. A column-shifted, 3-speed manual transmission backs the 346 CI flathead V-8 engine. While Cadillac is well known for producing some of the most interesting and exciting classic cars in the world, many agree the 1941 is one of the top options from the Wreath and Crest brand.

With its subtle design highlighted by bold nuances and a chassis that provided a wonderful driving experience, even by today’s standards, the Series 62 Cadillacs are delightful options for collectors and enthusiasts who like to both use and enjoy their cars.
