The 1941 Cadillac was a complete redesign of the previous generation car. With a body by Fisher, the headlights were integrated into the fenders, and flanked a massive chrome grille of egg-crate design. Below the headlights were spaces for optional integrated fog lights. The body style of the 1941 would become one of the most prolific designs in Cadillac history. The running boards had faded into a simple design accent connecting the front and rear fenders; the hood was more refined; and the fastback styling of the coupes was reminiscent of earlier aerodynamic coupes from Europe.

Only a 346 CI V-8 engine was available, simplifying matters in many regards, but the most exciting news from Cadillac was the new Hydra-Matic Drive automatic transmission. For $125, buyers could enjoy shift-free motoring. Cadillac touted that the transmission created a safer and more efficient experience—there was less risk in stalling, and the extra gear would save gas, oil and engine wear. So exciting were these new Cadillacs that a record 59,572 cars were sold in 1941.

This 1941 Convertible was part of the Klairmont Kollection of Chicago and has a new convertible top with glass rear window, wide Whitewall tires, fender skirts, bumper guards and original-style painted steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. Painted Black with a Red leather interior, the 346/150 HP V-8 engine is mated to an automatic transmission. A reproduction shop manual is included in the sale.
