With only 200 models being made worldwide, the BMW M5 Competition Edition is BMW exclusivity at its finest, and top-notch luxury exudes from every detail. Celebrating the end of the F10-generation M5, the Competition Edition boasts even more power than the twin-turbo, V8 found in the standard BMW M5. A recalibrated engine control unit allows more boost and a peak power output of 600hp thanks to increased power and torque make the Competition Edition one of the most powerful cars ever to be produced by BMW. And it’s certainly hard to argue with a 0-62mph time of just 3.9 seconds, 0.5 seconds faster than the standard BMW M5.

Everything about the Competition Edition is sports focused; not be confused with a standard M5 with the Competition Package, the Competition Edition was offered with BMW’s seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission Drivelogic and EfficientDynamics technology producing a very impressive 28.5mpg. The BMW M5 Competition Edition also offered nothing but the best in its extensive range of equipment, from Adaptive LED headlights and reversing assist camera to Comfort Access and a Bang & Olufsen Advanced audio system. Originally on sale with a list price of £100,995, getting hold of these cars was very difficult, even larger franchise dealerships were lucky to have one available and most buyers were paying more to wrestle these from their grasp.

This stunning delivery mileage example of the Competition edition, one of just 200 worldwide, is presented in showroom condition. Everything about the exterior demands attention, from the carbon fibre BMW M Performance Parts to the high-gloss Jet Black 20” M Double-spoke 601M light alloy wheels conveying a powerfully commanding and sporty presence. Only two exterior colours were available, Mineral White and, as with this example, Carbon Black. Exclusivity continues inside with full Black Merino leather upholstery and Opal White contrast stitching, the ‘M5’ logo stitched on the headrests, an ‘M5 Competition’ logo and a ‘1/200’ engraving on the M Performance interior trim.

Our vendor took delivery from the Dick Lovett franchise in late 2016 and it has since been tucked away in a heated collection. The running in service, first service and air conditioning service have all been carried out according to time rather than mileage and thus the car wants for nothing – other than perhaps driving. Similar limited edition M5’s such as the 35 Jahre M5 (of which there were 350 produced) can command prices at auction in excess of £100,000 so with this example being offered with just delivery mileage as well as being one of only 40 UK supplied models, this is a rare opportunity indeed.
