French title Chassis n ° WBSAK010X02191811 - Owned by the manager of the Manoir de l'Automobile Loïc Monnieur since 1991 - Sold new by BMW Rennes - Two owners from new, manuals - 381st/500, rarer than a Sport Evo - No reserve The Evo 2 represents in the history of the M3 E30 one of the sportiest versions, with an engine developing 220bhp, and aerodynamic appendages intended for competition. It is also one of the rarest because it only 500 were made. As can be seen from the original service logbook, this beautiful Evo 2 was sold new in August 1988, by Garage BMW Jean Huchet in Rennes, to a local businessman as a company car.

The latter then registered it in his name and used the M3 until the beginning of 1991, mainly to make round trips between Brittany and Paris. As its maintenance book shows, the car was regularly serviced at BMW Rennes. In 1991, the manager of the Lohéac museum, Loïc Monnier, purchased this Evo 2 from BMW Lorient, who confirmed that it was the only Evo 2 sold new in Rennes. It had 60,200 km on the clock then, and at the time, for its aesthetic presentation to be perfect, some elements were repainted. At the beginning of the 1990s, Loïc Monnier used his M3 for his daily drives, and then as a second car.

He confirmed that it had always been used with care, the warm-up time being scrupulously respected and that it had never been used intensively or on the track. After a decade of regular use, it was exhibited at the Manoir de l'Automobile and restarted regularly, which explains its beautiful original condition. The car now displays just under 186,000 km and is in a rare state of preservation consistent with its careful use and storage. In its beautiful original Nogaro Silber color, the car will be sold with its user and service manuals. Loïc Monnier, who arrived at the museum at the same time as the group B, will turn a page, and take a well-deserved retirement.

This is the only reason he is parting with this beautiful M3 Evo 2, wishing that its new owner would take care of it, as he has done for three decades, and keep it in this beautiful original condition. Photos © Peter Singhof
