Introduced at Geneva in 1985, the Turbo R continued the modern 'Blower Bentley' theme, but with the added refinement of suspension better suited to the car's increased performance. Outwardly the R differed from the preceding Mulsanne Turbo by virtue of its cast-alloy wheels shod with low-profile Pirelli tyres, while inside there was a revised fascia with rev-counter included amongst the comprehensive instrumentation. In a break with Rolls-Royce tradition, power figures were made public for the first time, revealing that the engine produced 320bhp and a staggering 475lb/ft of torque, which on the road translated into a 0-60mph time of around 7 seconds and a top speed of 143mph.
Described by Autocar magazine as "an outrageous concoction of sledgehammer performance and sybaritic luxury", the Turbo R remains as formidable now as when it debuted more than 20 years ago.
Apparently repainted and with the dashboard removed, this Turbo R is in poor condition and does not start. It was first serviced by Franco Britannique Automobiles, Levallois on 11th September 1997 at 4,552km (Current odometer reading 21,522km). Offered for restoration and sold strictly was viewed, the car comes with its maintenance manual and carnet, and Equatorial Guinea registration papers and customs document.

Lancée à Genève en 1985, la Turbo R reprend le thème des 'Bentley Blower', mais de façon moderne et avec le bénéfice d'une suspension mieux adaptée à son surcroît de performances. De l'extérieur, la R diffère des Mulsanne Turbo précédentes par ses roues en alliage chaussées de pneus Pirelli à taille basse, et on trouve à l'intérieur un nouveau tableau de bord à l'instrumentation complète, désormais enrichie d'un compte-tours.
En rupture avec la tradition Rolls-Royce, les performances du moteur sont pour la première fois communiquées : 320 chevaux et un couple stupéfiant de 650 Nm, qui se traduisent sur la route par un 0 à 100 km/h abattu en environ 7 secondes et une vitesse de pointe de 230 km/h. Décrite par le magazine Autocar comme "un mélange extravagant de performance étourdissante et de luxe pour sybarite", la Turbo R demeure à ce jour aussi stupéfiante qu'à ses débuts d'il y a vingt ans.
Cette Turbo R, qui semble avoir été repeinte et n'a plus de tableau de bord, est en mauvais état et son moteur ne démarre pas. Elle a bénéficié le 11 septembre 1997 chez Franco Britannique Automobiles, à Levallois, d'un premier entretien effectué à 4 552 km ; son compteur affiche à ce jour 21 552 km. Cette voiture, proposée pour restauration et vendue strictement en l'état, est munie de son carnet d'entretien et de son certificat d'immatriculation de Guinée équatoriale ainsi que de ses documents douaniers.
La TVA, la taxe sur les véhicules ainsi que les droits de douanes aux taux courants seront payables sur ce lot si le véhicule reste en Suisse.
