After being purchased by Rolls-Royce in 1931, Bentley production was moved from London to Derby and later to Crewe. Following on from the hugely successful series of T-series models, the next generation of cars also proved extremely capable. The Bentley Eight offered slight handling improvements and was so popular that sales expanded from the original UK market to Europe and the United States. Fuel injection and antilock brakes were added in 1986 with leather upholstery and power memory seats becoming standard in 1987.
This lovely left hand drive example was imported from Japan and is presented in metallic grey with the rare Claret leather interior, presenting beautifully. The car has only had two previous owners and comes with all original books and manuals including in English, as well as a mileage guarantee certificate up to 35,000 miles. Its luxurious interior is fitted with climate control, cruise control, electric windows as standard and the car presents extremely well. The vendor bought the car a year ago to use for his annual European trip at which time he fitted a set of new tyres. The car reportedly ran faultlessly, touring France and Portugal and is now for sale as he has returned home abroad.
Supplied with a V5C registration document, MoT test certificate valid through June 2025, original books and manuals and an electronic 96-page copy of the build sheets. Having just returned from one European adventure, this luxury saloon is ready for another! Consigned by Will Penrose.
