When the TT was first shown as a concept car at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show, many believed that Audi would never actually build such a vehicle. An award-winning interior design combined with a futuristic exterior, it took advantage of a previously unused laser beam welding adaptation which enabled seamless design features on the first-generation car.
The name TT has been attributed to the phrase ‘Technology & Tradition’ and it was technology that really set the Mk.1 TT apart specifically with the launch in 2003 of a dual clutch six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), with the United Kingdom TT variants becoming the world's first user of a dual clutch transmission configured for a righthand drive vehicle. The 3.2 V6 model also boasted Quattro 4 wheel drive system and dual tailpipe exhausts; the larger engine TT also boasted 247bhp and a 0-60 of 6.2 seconds; quicker than the manual car due to the swift DSG gear changes.
This immaculate 3.2 V6 DSG Audi TT is offered in stunning silver with black leather and alcantara trim and includes the optional satellite navigation, together with a Bose sound system. Completely standard, this pampered example has had just three previous owners from new, all of whom have kept it garaged. All too often the Audi TT comes with high miles and associated wear and tear due to its combination of comfort and enjoyment; however in this instance, the car is in as near new condition as you could possibly wish for. On a recent road test, the handling and performance was found to be sharp and crisp, the gear change was faultless and every electrical component worked as expected.
