Founded in 1991, German performance specialists ABT Sportsline GmbH achieved significant racing success beginning in the late ‘90s, first in the Super Touring Car Cup and then the DTM racing series, and it now also operates a factory Audi racing team. Specialists in tuning Audi and other VW Group products, in 2020, ABT released the Audi RS7-R performance upgrade kit, limited to just 125 units for the United States.
This comprehensive suite of upgrades begins with a special software upgrade that boosts output from the “standard” RS7’s twin-turbocharged 4.0L V-8 engine from 590 HP and 591 lb-ft of torque to 697 HP and 649 lb-ft of torque, thanks in part to the included ABT Sport muffler system. The ABT kit also includes a full carbon fiber aero package comprising a carbon fiber ABT front lip with a red RS7-R logo and front blades, carbon fiber ABT front trim, carbon fiber ABT side rocker panels, an ABT carbon fiber trunk spoiler and an ABT rear skirt add-on with an additional red RS7-R badge.
ABT flow-formed Dark Smoke 22-inch wheels fitted with Continental Extreme Contact tires round out the impressive upgrades performed on this 2021 Audi RS7-R ABT by Audi of Wilmington, Delaware. Finished in Daytona Gray Pearl with a Cognac Black interior, it also boasts the full complement of factory RS7 features, among them Audi’s Matrix Design laser headlights with high-beam assist, a power sunroof, top-view camera system with virtual 360-degree view, Audi MMI with navigation and advanced keyless entry. The exterior Black Optic Package incorporates high-gloss black mirror caps, badges, grille trim, window surrounds and bumper trim.
The Audi Driver Assist Package uses adaptive cruise control, pre-sense collision assist, side assist with rear cross-traffic assist and intersection assist with traffic sign recognition for safer, easier driving. Interior comfort and convenience features include Audi Virtual Cockpit, 10-way power adjustable and heated seats with honeycomb-stitched inserts and RS embroidery in the backrests, the Executive Package, a head-up display, soft-close doors and a Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system.
