Addendum

This vehicle is in the US under a “show or display” exemption. It is imperative that any transfer of ownership be approved by NHTSA prior to the title changing hands and that this vehicle cannot be transferred to a dealership entity. The seller will work with the buyer to ensure all limitations are understood and that compliance with the current “show or display” requirements are met. Buyers should be aware that the vehicle is limited to use of no more than 2,500 miles per year and must be made available for inspection by NHTSA until the vehicle is not less than 25 years old.

Please note that due to California emissions, this vehicle must be sold to a dealer or out-of-state resident.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato—the first collaboration between the British automaker and the great Italian coachbuilder—Aston Martin revealed their V12 Zagato to the public at the 2011 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Uniquely clothed in handcrafted aluminum bodywork that exudes muscular elegance alongside Zagato’s signature “double bubble” roof, the V12 Zagato easily claimed the event’s Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes. And with that, it instantly became the most desirable car in Aston Martin’s lineup.

Beneath the V12 Zagato’s hood is a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V-12 engine which routes its 510 horsepower to the ground via a six-speed manual gearbox—an incredibly desirable powertrain feature all but extinct in today’s supercar market, which offers the driver an unforgettable tactile thrill.

As with the lightweight and aerodynamic DB4 GT Zagato, this new offering was developed with motorsports in mind. Two V12 Zagato GT3 racecars were constructed

before

the production series, and they achieved impressive results at two top-flight Nürburgring endurance races in June 2011. Most interestingly, Aston Martin executives related that these races served as the V12 Zagato’s most important development experiment, with Aston Martin’s CEO, Testing Director, and Chief Engineer all listed as official drivers for the pair of factory-backed entries.

Each roadgoing V12 Zagato was to be individually tailored to the owner; a grand total of 2,000-man hours went into every one. Aston Martin excluded the North American market from this offering, and although 150 were planned, only 61 examples were completed. This extreme exclusivity mirrors the original DB4 GT Zagato, the production of which also fell short of initial projections.

V12 Zagato serial number 037, offered here, is finished in the stunning shade of Alloro Green, a color that recalls the hues offered on the Zagato-built DB4 GTs. This appealing exterior color is accented by many exposed carbon fiber features, from the prominent rear wing to the rearview mirrors and A-pillars; even the front fascia is worthy of close inspection, composed as it is of interlocking Zagato “Z” logos.

The richly upholstered Obsidian Black interior features leather hides emblazoned with a flowing pattern highlighted by contrasting green stitching; the intricate design covers the seats, door cards, and even the headliner, speaking clearly to the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Other highlights of number 037’s incredible specifications include 19-inch diamond-turned wheels, a Bang & Olufsen 1000W audio system, and heated, power-adjustable lightweight carbon fiber sport seats.

After acquiring this car in 2017, the consignor exhibited number 037 at the 2018 edition of The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, where it earned a win in the Custom Coachwork class. In November 2022, this car received nearly $9,000 in routine mechanical servicing from Aston Martin Beverly Hills, and a new set of Pirelli P-Zero tires were also fitted at that time.

With its excellent motorsports-derived pedigree, jaw-dropping styling, stellar colors, limited production—and as one of only four believed to be here in the United States—this scarcely driven V12 Zagato with fewer than 1,633 miles traveled since new is an excellent example of a model which is seldom seen anywhere, especially on this side of the Atlantic.
