° FFVE certificate Chassis n°916671 Rare model Embodiment of Alfa Romeo prestige Eligible for the Mille Miglia High quality antique restoration Attractive estimate Started in 1939, the production of the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 is in the continuity of the know-how and Italian automotive spirit thanks to talented engineers, including the famous Vittorio Jano, but also to body builders as famous as Farina, Touring, Zagato, Ghia and Castagna.

Available in several versions ranging from luxurious 5-seater sedans and 6/7-seater limousines to sportier models, sedans, cabriolets and spiders, the 6C 2500 proved to be extremely versatile at the time, winning prizes in the most prestigious elegance competitions as well as road and track events. The Alfa-Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Freccia d’Oro (Golden Arrow) was the first post-war car built and marketed by the Milanese firm. The attach - ment system of its bodywork was modified. It is no longer bolted, but welded to the frame rails. The new 4/5-seater coupe is built in-house, but strongly influenced by Touring designs.

It is also characterized by a modern “two-volume” silhouette with a rounded tail called Gobbone (big hump). As is still traditional with Alfa Romeo, the driver’s seat is on the right. The Freccia d’Oro were assembled by Carrozzeria Alfa and equipped with a 90 hp engine that allowed to reach 155 km/h. The first examples were sold from 1947 until 1952. In those six years, just under 2,200 examples of the elegant 6C 2500 sedan were produced in Portello, of which only 680 were Freccia d’Oro models. There are currently only 56 of these cars left in the world.

As proof of their excellent performance and reliability, the Freccia d’Oro were the stars of the first edition of the famous and tough Carrera Panamericana in Mexico in 1950. Piero Taruffi fini - shed in 4th place and Bonni-Bonetto in 8th place. The Freccia d’Oro is a true style icon, among the most beautiful cars of all time. It represents the final chapter of one of the most prestigious Alfa Romeos and the end of the golden age of the brand. The car in the Anna-Lisa collection was delivered new on the 22nd of January 1951 to its first Italian owner, Constantini Sevilli, who kept it for thirty-seven years.

The various deeds of ownership we have at our disposal mention its sale on the 21st of November, 1988 to Amilcare Spinapolice and Pietro Piacquadio. This Freccia d’Oro was then acquired by Giuseppe Pappalardo on the 23rd of September, 1992, then by a fourth owner on the 11th of March, 1994 before joining the Anna-Lisa collection on the 1st of July, 2019. It is presented complete, in good general condition, interior and exterior, with its engine to be restarted. Its odometer shows 44,021 km. Note that it no longer sports its original Rosso Amaranto color that was kept until the 1990s.

This rare Alfa Romeo is a superb project to be left as is, or for a complete restoration that would give back all its brilliance to this ambassador of the most beautiful hours of the brand.
