MG has officially begun delivering production-spec MG 07 models to dealerships across China ahead of the car's July 29 pre-sale launch. The sleek electric fastback is expected to become one of the brand's most competitive EVs, combining long driving range, advanced technology, and attractive target pricing.
Reference prices suggest the 610 km LiDAR-equipped version will start below 150,000 yuan ($22,100), while the flagship 840 km model is expected to remain below 180,000 yuan ($26,500). Final pricing and trim details will be announced when pre-sales officially begin, with customer deliveries planned for the third quarter of 2026.
Built on two different electrical architectures, the MG 07 offers buyers a choice between 400V and 800V systems. The entry-level version features a 176 kW (239 hp) rear-mounted motor paired with a 67 kWh semi-solid-state battery, delivering up to 610 km or 650 km of claimed driving range, depending on specification. Higher-end models receive a more powerful 235 kW (320 hp) motor, a CATL ternary lithium battery, an 800V platform, and a claimed 840 km driving range, along with 5C fast-charging capability.
Technology is another major highlight. Every MG 07 comes with AI-assisted mCDC electromagnetic suspension, while premium versions add roof-mounted LiDAR and the Momenta R7 assisted-driving system, supporting urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and advanced parking assistance.
Inside, the cabin features a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295P, an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, a zero-gravity passenger seat, a 697-liter rear cargo area, and a 109-liter front trunk.
Will the MG 07 become one of China's biggest EV bargains? Can its 840 km range and 800V platform outperform rivals in the same price segment? And is advanced LiDAR technology now becoming essential for modern electric sedans?
