After years of teasers, the Range Rover Electric arrives for the 2027 model year, bringing zero-emission power to Land Rover’s iconic luxury SUV lineup.

The EV stays remarkably close to the combustion-powered Range Rover in appearance and cabin design. However, a revised grille, aerodynamic wheels, and underbody panels help improve efficiency. Underneath sits a 119-kWh battery feeding two electric motors that deliver 542 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Land Rover claims a 0–60 mph time of 4.3 seconds.

Air suspension with adjustable ride height comes standard, while an advanced traction system can react to wheel slip in just 50 milliseconds. The EV can also handle serious terrain and wade through up to 35 inches of water. Could an electric SUV really match the off-road ability of a traditional Range Rover?

EPA range is estimated at 333 miles. The 800-volt system supports DC charging at up to 350 kW, with a 10–80 percent charge taking around 22 minutes. A standard NACS port is included.

The Range Rover Electric starts at $140,550, compared with $115,750 for the gas model and $131,350 for the P550e plug-in hybrid. A First Edition will also be offered. Is the premium justified? And can this EV become the new benchmark for electric luxury SUVs?
