BMW Z4 Gets a Rare Alpina Twist

The Bovensiepen Spider brings the spirit of classic Alpina back to the BMW Z4, combining extra performance with more sophisticated styling and luxury. Created by the family behind the original Alpina brand, the Spider is limited to just 99 examples.

Its turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six now produces 429 hp and 427 lb-ft of torque—47 hp and 59 lb-ft more than the BMW Z4 M40i. Power goes through an eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels, while revised suspension, a unique exhaust and optional performance brakes sharpen the driving experience.

The exterior gets new splitters, side skirts, a larger rear spoiler, special 20-inch wheels and distinctive “Spider” detailing. Inside, Vernasca leather, Alcantara and Lavalina leather add a more premium feel.

A Performance package raises the top speed to 183 mph and adds extra cooling and chassis reinforcement. Pricing starts at €115,500, or roughly $134,000.
