1. What this Privacy Policy covers
1.1. This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") applies to all information, including personal data, that AUTO.AE may obtain about users when they use the AUTO.AE website, its subdomains, and AUTO.AE mobile applications (together, the "Services").
1.2. This Policy forms part of the AUTO.AE Terms of Use. By using the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of information as described in this Policy.
1.3. AUTO.AE may update this Policy at any time. Updates take effect once published in the Services. AUTO.AE may update the Policy without separate notice.
1.4. If you do not agree with this Policy (including any updates), you must immediately stop using the AUTO.AE Services.
1.5. If any provision of this Policy is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
2. Who processes your information
2.1. The controller (operator) of personal data is:

2.2. AUTO.AE may appoint service providers (processors) — infrastructure, messaging/notifications, analytics, anti-fraud, support, payments, etc. — who process data on behalf of AUTO.AE under contracts and AUTO.AE instructions.
3. Why AUTO.AE processes data
3.1. Purposes of processing include:
- providing access to the Services and maintaining functionality;
- publishing/displaying listings, profiles, showroom pages, search and filters;
- communications and customer support, including maintaining support history;
- payments and billing (wallet, paid promotion, paid placements for business accounts, refunds);
- security, anti-fraud, investigations of abuse, and protection of AUTO.AE and user rights;
- analytics and service improvement (usage trends, performance, troubleshooting);
- marketing and advertising communications (within applicable law and your settings).
4. What data AUTO.AE collects
4.1. Personal information you provide:
- name/username, phone (if required for login/verification), email;
- account/profile data (including business account/showroom details);
- listing content (photos/videos, description, specs, price, location, contacts — if you publish them);
- support communications and attachments.
4.2. Wallet, paid features, and business placements data:
- wallet balance, top-ups, charges, refunds history;
- purchased promotion services (promotion packages, individual options, stickers), validity periods and statuses;
- paid business listings data (posting event, placement duration by day, charges/debits, statuses).
4.3. Payments:
Wallet top-ups and/or paid features are processed via Stripe. AUTO.AE receives payment status/identifiers and data needed for accounting, refunds, and anti-fraud; card details are typically processed by the payment provider.
4.4. General (technical) information:
IP address, cookies/SDKs, device/browser/app identifiers, OS, app version, language, access date/time, session duration, referrers, events/logs. This information may not identify you directly and is used for operations, security, and analytics.
4.5. Social login and social integrations (if you use them):
AUTO.AE may receive social login data (e.g., first/last name, email, profile photo) and/or Facebook/Instagram page and business account data to publish on your behalf and receive aggregated analytics — only after you connect the integration and select the relevant actions.
4.6. Age:
AUTO.AE Services are intended for users 18+. If AUTO.AE becomes aware that an account belongs to a person under 18, AUTO.AE may restrict access and/or delete the account to the extent permitted by law.
5. Legal bases for processing
AUTO.AE processes personal data on the legal bases available under PDPL and other applicable UAE laws, including where processing is necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, ensure security/anti-fraud, protect AUTO.AE rights, or based on consent where required.
6. Data security
6.1. AUTO.AE implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data and prevent unauthorized access.
6.2. Important: despite these measures, AUTO.AE cannot guarantee that transmission over the internet (including via the website or email) will always be fully secure, and AUTO.AE is not responsible for unauthorized access by third parties beyond AUTO.AE's reasonable control.
6.3. Anti-fraud, moderation, and protective measures
AUTO.AE may apply automated and/or manual moderation, checks, and restrictions, suspend features/operations (including wallet operations) where there are signs of abuse/fraud, and retain logs, change history, and evidence of actions within the Services for investigations and protection of AUTO.AE and user rights, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Disclosure and sharing of data
7.1. Processors and service providers: infrastructure/hosting, messaging/notifications, analytics, anti-fraud, support, payments (Stripe), etc. — only as necessary and under contracts.
7.2. Dealers/showrooms and other sellers (if you submit an enquiry/request): AUTO.AE may share your data with the selected seller/showroom as an integral part of providing the service (e.g., enabling the seller to respond to your enquiry).
7.3. Important: seller/showroom as a separate controller
Once your data is shared, the seller/showroom becomes a separate data controller and uses the information under its own policies/terms. AUTO.AE is not responsible for the seller/showroom's processing outside AUTO.AE control.
7.4. Professional advisers: AUTO.AE may disclose data where needed to obtain professional advice.
7.5. Law and rights protection: AUTO.AE may disclose data to comply with legal obligations, enforce Terms, and protect the rights/property/safety of AUTO.AE and users, including information sharing for anti-fraud purposes.
7.6. Public listings and search engine indexing
By publishing a listing/profile, you acknowledge that data may become public, be indexed by search engines, and be cached by third parties. AUTO.AE does not guarantee deletion of third-party copies and is not responsible for them.
8. Data retention
8.1. AUTO.AE retains data as long as necessary for the processing purposes or until account deletion — whichever comes first — with the period determined based on the nature of the data, purposes, and legal/operational requirements.
8.2. AUTO.AE may retain certain data longer where needed for accounting, refunds, anti-fraud, investigations, and protection of rights, as permitted by law.
9. Data management and deletion
9.1. AUTO.AE provides the ability to request access, correction, portability, and deletion of data to the extent permitted by applicable law.
9.2. Social integrations (Facebook/Instagram): for deleting/disconnecting integration-related data, the most effective method is to remove the AUTO.AE integration in the relevant social network settings (often "Apps and Websites" / "Business Integrations").
9.3. For any requests related to your data in AUTO.AE systems, email [email protected] with the subject "Personal Data Request (PDPL)". AUTO.AE may request identity/account ownership verification.
9.4. For data processed by third-party platforms/providers (e.g., Apple/Google, social networks), some settings and deletion controls may be managed through those providers. AUTO.AE does not control their processes or timelines.
10. Cookies, analytics, pixels, and advertising
10.1. AUTO.AE uses cookies/SDKs and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, analytics/service improvement, and (where applicable) marketing.
10.2. Cookies may also be set and read by third-party providers (including analytics providers). AUTO.AE does not control third-party cookies; they are governed by those third parties' policies.
10.3. Most browsers accept cookies automatically; you can disable cookies in your browser/device settings. Disabling cookies may limit certain Service features.
10.4. For advertising campaigns, cookies typically have a limited lifetime; in a typical scenario, such cookies are automatically deleted after roughly 30 days.
10.5. Third-party analytics and tracking pixels
AUTO.AE may use third-party analytics and tracking technologies to analyze traffic, evaluate Service usage, prepare reports, and improve quality. Information collected (including IP address and technical attributes) may be transmitted to the analytics provider's servers and processed under the provider's rules; analytics providers may share data with third parties where necessary to deliver their services.
10.6. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AUTO.AE (and its suppliers and representatives) is not liable for indirect/special/ incidental damages relating to third-party analytics/tracking, where such liability cannot be imposed under law.
10.7. Third-party advertisers and retargeting
AUTO.AE may allow advertising through third-party ad networks. Such third parties may place cookies in the user's browser and use retargeting technologies to show personalized banners. Data collected by such advertisers is generally technical/general data and is processed under their policies; AUTO.AE does not control their cookies or processing.
10.8. Cookie Policy and Privacy Notice
AUTO.AE may publish a separate Cookie Policy (detailed categories, durations, purposes) and a short Privacy Notice for cookie banners/onboarding; such documents form part of this Policy.
11. Updates to this Policy
11.1. AUTO.AE may update this Policy; updates take effect upon publication.
