In the Maybach S 680, you feel less like a driver and more like the master of your own destiny. The cabin is so spacious and luxurious that even a simple trip to the supermarket becomes an occasion. The rear seats are like business-class seats on a plane: you can recline, stretch out your legs, and forget about the traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. When I drive myself, the quiet is astonishing—the engine is barely audible, and everything runs smoothly and effortlessly. On the highway, the car seems to glide over the asphalt; you can only feel the speed by looking at the speedometer. Sometimes I even catch myself paying less attention to the time on the road, because it’s so cozy inside that there’s no desire to rush.
