Every trip in the G 63 turns into a little show, even if I’m just going to the store. People turn around, take photos on their phones, and children wave—sometimes it’s amusing, sometimes a little tiring. You feel very confident in the city, especially on Sheikh Zayed Road: you sit high, see further down the road than everyone else, and traffic jams are less irritating. It’s not difficult to drive, but the steering is heavy, and after long drives my arms really do get tired. On the highway, it holds its speed effortlessly, though you can still hear the engine, which I personally like. Parking is still a challenge—the car is wide, the corners are sharp, and you have to be careful. But there’s a feeling that it’s impossible to feel weak or unsure of yourself behind the wheel, and that’s what makes it special.
