The Volkswagen Golf GTi Campaign was a special edition of the popular hot hatchback that was designed to commemorate the car's success in motorsport. It was launched in the UK and featured a number of unique design features that set it apart from the standard GTi model. One of the most distinctive features of the Golf GTi Campaign was its was fitted with a bodykit that included flared wheel arches and side skirts, which further enhanced its sporty look. Inside, the Golf GTi Campaign featured Recaro seats that were upholstered in a special ‘GTi’ fabric, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.
The car also came equipped with a number of performance upgrades, including a close-ratio gearbox and uprated suspension, which made it even more enjoyable to drive. This is one of the last Volkswagen Golf Mk. I’s supplied being the Campaign model and was registered on 3rd February 1983. Purchased by the current owner in 2020 and after going through the car mechanically, they have found they had very little opportunity to use it due to the pandemic and the car has been in storage over the last year. Finished in black with grey cloth interior, this Golf GTi is supplied with a V5C registration document and a MoT test certificate which expires in May 2024.
The Golf GTi Campaign was a limited-edition model, with only 5,000 units produced. Today, it is highly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts, who appreciate its unique design and performance capabilities.
