- VR6 engine Even the most hardened enthusiast could be forgiven for asking 'what?' when told about the Beetle RSi, and with good reason. Just 251 were built at Volkswagen's Mexico plant and the car's specification put it on a par with any junior supercar. Consider the specification: A Volkswagen VR6 engine OZ Superturismo alloy wheels stopped by Brembo brakes, while aerodynamics were boosted by an unmissably big rear spoiler and wider wings to accommodate the OZ rolling stock. The stylist's touch was turned on the interior too, the result being orange leather seats (Recaros in the front) plus some liberal use of carbonfibre.
Backing the looks was the power – a 225bhp Volkswagen 3.2-litre VR6 and six-speed manual gearbox. It is in very good order, with bodywork, paint and wheels in very good order. The interior is as good, seats showing little wear and the carbonfibre door panels and dashboard , along with the carpet, in very presentable guise.
