$27,500 USD | Sold

This award-winning 1973 Volkswagen Thing convertible is an original, matching-numbers car and has undergone a nut-and-bolt restoration completed in October 2015. All parts are new, NOS or restored to like-new condition. It is powered by a correct AM 1600cc engine that was completely rebuilt to pristine condition and is paired to a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission. It was repainted its original Sunshine Yellow with German paint. The complete chassis was rebuilt as well. This 1973 contains the original gasoline heater located in the trunk, new rubber throughout, new tires, Westfalia upholstery and a new tan vinyl top. Like most VW Things, the doors are removable, front to back and back to front.
