Chassis No.: TPADJ7AT210770

Engine No.: CG32028H

Registration: JMU 246W

The first Porsche 911 was introduced in 1963 as the replacement for the much loved Porsche 356. It has a distinctive design; rear-engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. The engine was also air-cooled until the introduction of the type 996 in 1998. Since its introduction in 1963, it has undergone continual development although the basic concept has remained little changed. In 1973, the Carrera name was re-introduced from the 356 Carrera which had itself been named after Porsche's class victories in the Carrera Panamericana races in Mexico in the 1950's.

The RS was built so that Porsche could enter racing formulae which demanded that a certain minimum number of production cars were made. The most notable advances in 1984 were the introduction of the 3.2 litre engine. With 231bhp on tap, the new 'boxer' motor endowed the Carrera with a level of performance approaching that of the original 911 Turbo of 1974; the bold statistics being a 0-60mph time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 152mph.

Manufactured in 1985, this fine Carrera is finished in red with a contrasting black interior and is described as being 9 out of 10 in all respects. The car underwent a full engine and gearbox rebuild by specialists Addspeed Performance Cars when showing 146,000 miles; with 32,000 covered since. Further bills accompany the car from Power Marques totalling over £3,786 from March 2005 together with a V5 document, numerous invoices and an MoT test certificate valid until October 2016. With the Porsche reputation for reliability, this is a great opportunity to buy a practical righthand drive classic Porsche which has been much loved and cared for throughout its life.
