The final version of the Rover 10 was launched in 1939. This was part of the Rover P2 range, along with Rover 12, Rover 14, Rover 16 and Rover 20 models. The chassis was slightly modified getting an extra half inch in the wheelbase and the engine got a new cylinder head increasing power from 44 to 48 bhp. Synchromesh was fitted to the top two ratios on the gearbox. The body was restyled in the Rover style of the time. The price was now GBP £275 for the saloon but few were made before the outbreak of war and production stopping in 1940.

This delightful and handsome Rover 10 coupé is presented in black coachwork with contrasting green trim. A car that had been predominantly garaged over the last decade it sadly had to spend one winter outside a few years ago, when it returned in the spring our vendor was so disappointed he commissioned professionals to retrim the interior to the tune of over £7,000 and it now presents fabulously well. The exterior also suffered some ill effects of a winter partially covered and some crazing and flaking to the top layer of paint is found but the car appears solid and in good condition, a fitting description could be that the body is showing patina but appears roundly in good condition.

Recently lightly recommissioned of late it has been garaged warm and dry for the past 12 months and would be a great pre-war foil for weekend motoring in what is a charming example. Consigned by Mathew Priddy

Guide Price £10,000-£15,000
