An exceptionally well preserved 1997 Silver Dawn showing just 30,255 miles, with 34 service stamps, superb Black Emerald Mica coachwork and Sandstone hide – one of the finest examples of Crewe’s hand-built era.
Introduced in 1995 as part of the final evolution of the SZ-series cars, the Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn was produced in limited numbers and represented the height of hand-built craftsmanship at Crewe before the arrival of the Silver Seraph. Sharing its platform with the Bentley Brooklands but with its own distinctive elegance, the Silver Dawn combined classic Rolls-Royce grace with contemporary comfort and refinement. The example offered here is quite remarkable. First registered in 1997, it is believed to be the final Silver Dawn to have been produced at Crewe.
It has clearly been cherished from new, showing only 30,255 miles at the time of cataloguing and accompanied by an extraordinary service record of 34 stamped entries. Such maintenance is almost unheard of, reflecting a lifetime of careful ownership and diligent upkeep. Finished in Black Emerald Mica, a deep and sophisticated shade that suits the car’s presence perfectly, the paintwork remains excellent throughout. The interior is trimmed in Sandstone leather, complemented by highly figured Burr Walnut veneers with crossbanding and inlay, picnic tables, and an adjustable rear seat, giving passengers every comfort expected of the marque.
The overall condition of the cabin is superb, with only the lightest signs of gentle use. The car has remained with its current keeper since 2015 and has clearly been coveted throughout its life.
