Renault is known for its compact commuter vehicles and this particular Dauphine meets that criteria. Driven by a thundering 845-cc engine that is said to have produced 30 horsepower, and coupled to a four-speed manual transmission this compact car is quite maneuverable. Dauphine’s came equipped with a deluxe heater, plus city and country horns. Recently repainted in white with a new complementary red interior makes this vehicle stand out from the crowd. Research shows that Renault offered a “terrific six-month warranty with no mileage limitations.” These automobiles had unique styling for its day, but many were quite attracted to the peculiar design.
