Initially intended as a limited run of 500 special 911-series coupes to usher out Type 991 production, Porsche’s 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series generated fierce demand for an open-air version, resulting in a limited run of 200 special open-air cabriolets for North America. Finished by hand at the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur headquarters in Zuffenhusen, Germany, the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet Exclusive Series appropriately heralded the end of 991.2-generation 911 production as one of the most highly equipped sports cars ever produced.
Powering the extremely rare Porsche is a 3.8L twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine developing 607 HP, 27 more than the 911 Turbo S at the core of the rarefied Exclusive Series cars. A 7-speed, dual-clutch PDK transaxle, electronic limited-slip differential and all-wheel drive maximize power delivery, while 4-wheel ABS disc brakes provide stopping power. As expected, performance is stunning, with credentials including 0-60 MPH acceleration in just 2.8 seconds and a 205 MPH terminal velocity.
