Type 996. 450 bhp, 3.6-litre DOHC horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers, six-speed manual transmission, fully independent front and rear suspension, and four-wheel carbon-ceramic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 2,350 mm

Type 996. Moteur six-cylindres à plat, 3,6 litre, 450 ch, 2 ACT par banc, transmission manuelle à six rapports, quatre roues indépendantes, freins à disque carbone-céramique sur les quatre roues. Empattement 2 350 mm.

As one of the most desirable models of the 993 range, for the 996-generation of the Porsche 911, it was only natural that the Turbo S would make a return. Introduced in 2004, towards the end of the 996’s life cycle, the Turbo S provided a healthy boost in performance to one of that generation’s most adored models.

Technically, the Turbo S remained highly similar to the 996 Turbo but instead was outfitted with the X50 performance option, bumping horsepower up to 450 brake horsepower, as well as fitting Porsche’s carbon-ceramic brakes as standard and including a CD changer. Larger turbochargers and improved intercoolers helped to raise torque to 620 newton meters. Top speed was rated at 307 km/h. Coupe and Cabriolet models were offered and about 980 examples were produced; of those, 300 were built as Cabriolets.

Finished in the traditional Porsche colour combination of Silver over a black interior, this particular Turbo S Cabriolet remains in splendid condition inside and out. With 31,000 miles on its odometer, it has been regularly enjoyed but always well maintained and presents as such. With the 996 generation of 911 Turbos on the rise, the Turbo S Cabriolet remains one of the most desirable variants due to its rarity. As a result, well-kept examples seldom become available for purchase, and this example should not be overlooked.
