The beautiful, low-mileage example of Porsche's iconic 911 Targa model offered here, was completed at Porsches Zuffenhausen plant during August of 1976 as 1977-model year US-market car. The new Porsche was finished as it appears today, in striking Irish Green, equipped with a black Targa top, and a cool Cork leatherette interior with Cork pinstriped velour inserts. The new 911S would be exported to Canada very early on and was in November of 1977 registered in the Province of BC, Canada. The car is believed to have been retained in the same ownership from 1977 until 2015.
The following year the beautifully preserved Porsche was purchased by the consignor, a fellow Canadian enthusiast with an eye for exceptionally original sportscars. While in his devoted care, the 911S has received diligent maintenance to the tune of about $15,000, including with fresh Pirelli tires, valve gaskets, new clutch, fuel pump, brake service and more.
Today, this striking 911S 2.7 Targa presents beautifully well-preserved throughout. The exterior has received some touchup in the original Irish Green color, while original paint finishes remain intact on some body panels, in compartments, jambs, and on the impeccably clean undercarriage. The smart Cork-colored interior is believed to be original, and factory decals and markings can be found in many areas. The odometer reading of just 14,580 kms (9,060 miles) at time of cataloging is believed to reflect what has been driven since the car came to Canada in 1977, and certainly matches the cars original appearance. With its matching numbers drivetrain still in place, this fine 911S Targa is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
