1963 Plymouth is a factory Super Stock surrounded in Plymouth's highest trim line, Sport Fury. It features bucket seats restored with factory-original materials, first-year console, and six red, white and blue emblems inside and out. It was delivered new to Dominick Basso Chrysler Plymouth, in downtown Los Angeles, CA, in December of 1962. It has spent almost this entire time in southern California and has had two owners since 1982. Its previous owner purchased it unrestored and after more than 20 years decided to commission a professional restoration, complete with professional body and paintwork.
The car was never cut up for a race car, never rusted and never in an accident, and retains all of its original sheet metal. The car has had articles written about it in three major publications and has won numerous trophies. It is documented by Galen Govier and is listed in the 1963 Plymouth Super Stock Guide, written by Darrell Davis. A copy of the listing is included with the car. The car has the correct 426/415hp 8-cylinder engine, push-button TorqueFlite automatic transmission and Sure-Grip rear end. This Super Stock came new to the dealership with 3.23 rear end gears instead of 3.91. It was not optioned to be a drag race car.
The interior is done in black grained vinyl with rolled nylon pleated seat and door panels with contrasting copper accents.
