Winner of the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon Custom Car Contest, this 1977 Nissan Skyline GT-R was acquired in the late 2010s by notable Japanese tuning house and parts manufacturer TopSecret, which was founded by Kazuhiko "Smoky" Nagata. Subsequent refurbishment work and modifications involved repainting the body Silver, as well as installing a 3.0-liter RB26/30 inline-6 engine generating 276hp. The engine is equipped with an RB30 block and an R26-specification cylinder head, a high-lift camshaft, an HKS F-Con V-Pro engine management system, HKS forged pistons and rods, individual throttle bodies and custom tubular exhaust headers. An R32 GTS-t 5-speed manual transmission was also installed.
Inside, the right-hand-drive cabin was outfitted with driver and passenger Bride front bucket seats, air conditioning and a Personal steering wheel featuring a Smoky Nagata signature. It rides on 15-inch Work Star Road wheels wrapped in Potenza RE-01 tires and is further equipped with adjustable front coilovers and four-wheel disc brakes. The exterior features a front spoiler, fender flares and power-adjustable fender-mounted mirrors. Following completion of the project, the car was exhibited at the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon, where it won an Excellence Award.
The car was purchased by the current owner in 2022 and brought to the U.S. in December of that year, and work performed since 2023 has involved repairing the radiator, servicing the driveshaft and adjusting the ride height.
