Nash Motors entered the 1950s with record sales and an aerodynamic new version of its luxury Ambassador passenger car line. As the 1950s approached, Nash-Kelvinator chairman George Mason anticipated a rising market for smaller cars, but he passed away soon after the company’s merger with the Hudson Motor Car Company and the resulting creation of American Motors Corporation. His successor, George Romney, switched his emphasis to the Rambler brand, and by 1956 it was clear that the Nash brand would soon disappear. The year 1957 was the last of production for Nash Motors before closing its doors forever.
This nut-and-bolt rotisserie restored 1957 Nash Ambassador is one of the last cars Nash produced. The uniquely styled Ambassador is in full bloom in three-tone Pacific and Solitaire Blue with Frost White roof and body side accents, chromed bumper guards and Whitewall tires. Its White and Blue interior is highlighted by an engine-turned dashboard and centralized instrument panel, tinted glass, push button radio and in-dash clock. This Ambassador's 327/255 HP 4-barrel V-8, dual exhaust, Hydra-Matic transmission and power steering and brakes attest to its admirable performance.
