The Mini was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960’s and its space-saving front-wheel drive layout allowing 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage, influenced a generation of car makers. In 1999, the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century behind the Ford Model T. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. The Mini was again marketed under the Austin name in the 1980’s and was offered in a number of limited editions that usually included a special combination of trim and badging.
Originally supplied by Rodgers of Plymouth Ltd on 22nd September 2000, this Mini Cooper Sport has only covered 33,100 miles from new and has been used very little of late due to the poor health of the vendor. However it is a Mini with a difference as in October 2010 it had a replacement engine fitted and at the same time a supercharger was fitted, all of this work was carried out by Vmaxscart in Surrey when the car had covered 26,870 miles. The result is a Mini that appears standard from the outside and is exceptional to drive.
As soon as more power is required, the supercharger kicks in with a familiar whine, couple this to the low centre of gravity and great road holding, this Mini is outstanding to drive. A comprehensive history folder is supplied together with a V5C registration document and the original service books, Mini prices continue to rise as they are being recognized as a sound investment.
