The MGB roadster was introduced in 1962 replacing the streamlined MGA of the 1950s. Production ceased after 386,961 roadsters and 125,282 GT’s were built. The last MGB Roadster rolled off the production line at Abingdon in October 1980. Power is supplied by a 62.5-hp, 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission combination. In March 1979 British Leyland began production of 500 special black painted limited edition MGB roadsters for the U.S. market. Due to a high demand of limited editions models, production ended with 6,682 examples.

Limited Edition models included unique five-spoke alloy wheels, luggage rack, silver lower body stripes, leather covered three-spoke steering wheel with special center hub, and a limited edition dash plaque installed on the glovebox door. This example includes an AM/FM stereo radio with cassette tape player.
