$56,100 USD | Sold

This is one of 8,014 Mercury Wagons built in 1949. It's powered by a 255/110hp L-head engine and 3-speed Touch-O-Matic transmission with overdrive. Having undergone a frame-up restoration, it's been refreshed in mirror-like Tampico Red and features a tan leather bench-seat interior that accommodates up to nine with full instrumentation in faux-wood dash, original headliner and AM radio. The highlight of this example is its original woodwork, which originated in the forests of northern Michigan. The Tampico Red paint is the perfect match inside and out for this wagon's well-preserved golden-toned wood. The brightwork is correct and in exceptional condition inside and out, crowned by that famous Mercury vertical-bar front grille. From the Charlie Thomas Collection.
