It all started in 1969, when Coca-Cola decided it wanted to do a promotion where the top prize would be a hot-rodded 1969 428ci Cobra-Jet-powered Mercury Cougar. Coca-Cola partnered up with Car Craft Magazine and Don Nicholson, aka 'Dyno Don,' to build a show version of Dyno Don's Super Stock cougar. It traveled around to different promotional events and races, where it would do NHRA exhibition runs. Ford sent the car to Don's shop, where it was blueprinted and a few secret tweaks to the engine were done. Also added a set of Lakewood traction bars, Jardine headers, new drag shocks, a set of Cragar SS wheels and a set of slicks.

Don decided to install a Hurst Competition shifter and linkage setup. In September 1969, Coca-Cola gave the car to one lucky winner in Ohio. Sadly, he had to sell it. It was rediscovered in 1999, then was given a full restoration taking 3 years to accomplish. After its restoration, it has changed hands a few times and is currently in a private car collection. In 2016 'Super Cat' took Outstanding First-Time Showing from MCACN and the Platinum Pick Judge's Choice; in 2019, it received an Invitation Display Certificate from MCACN and it was featured on the cover of MCACN Magazine.

The sale comes with the 1973 Ohio title, Marti Report, vintage magazines, photos and National Thirst Eliminator Sweepstakes giveaway sign board.
