The recipe for the G 650 Landaulet was fantastically extraordinary. Mercedes-Benz took its enduringly popular, boxy Geländewagen with a convertible rear compartment, stretched the wheelbase by over half a metre, then had performance division AMG instal a colossal 6-litre, biturbo V-12 borrowed from its flagship S 65 super saloon. That unit, which exhales through a side-exit exhaust system, was mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox capable of handling all 621 horsepower. The platform was then raised on portal axles from the G 500 4x4² and given three locking differentials before being handed over to the ultra-luxury-centric Maybach to have reclining, memory, massaging rear seats fitted from an S 600 limousine.
Delivered to its first owner on 26 March 2018, this example was specified in Designo Mystic White, while the exclusive Napa leather interior package was configured in two-tone beige and black to go with a beige soft-top. This car was further equipped with a Harman Kardon surround sound system, velour floor mats, the Mercedes-Maybach Chrome Package, AMG carbon trim details, plus 22-inch immersion-polished alloy wheels.
Registered on 30 August 2018, this G 650 Landaulet was subsequently acquired by the consigning owner in January 2021, later heading for a service that was carried out by Mercedes-Benz München in the December of that year. The odometer shows just 278 kilometres at the time of cataloguing and this car further benefits from its owner’s manual and other books. In August 2022, the car was treated with an application of paint-protection film around the front and lower sections of the vehicle by specialist XPEL. In July 2024, the G 650 was serviced by Mercedes-Benz Niederlassung München, with this and other work totalling €2,363.32 (invoice available to view on file). The sale of this example presents an opportunity to acquire what is arguably the ultimate expression of the iconic G-Wagen.
Das Rezept für den G 650 Landaulet war ausgesprochen einfach. Mercedes-Benz nahm sich den anhaltend beliebten kastigen Gelände-G mit dem hinteren offenen Verdeck vor, streckte den Radstand um mehr als einen halben Meter und ließ dann seine AMG Division des kolossalen 6-Liter biturbo V12 aus dem Flaggschiff S 65 einbauen. Dieser Motor, der über eine Seitenauspuffanlage ausatmet, wurde dann mit einer 7-Gang-Automatik gekoppelt, die mit den angebotenen 630 PS zurechtkam. Die gesamte Plattform wurde mit Hilfe der Portalachsen aus dem G 500 4x4² angehoben, hinzu kamen drei Sperrdifferenziale. Das Ganze ging dann an die für ultimativen Luxus zuständige Maybach-Sparte, wo dem G 650 verstellbare Rücksitze mit Memory und Massagefunktion aus dem S 600 eingebaut wurden.
Dieses Exemplar in Designo Mystic White mit exklusivem Nappaleder-Paket in zweifarbig beige-schwarz und beigem Verdeck wurde am 26. März 2018 gebaut. Zur weiteren Ausstattung gehören ein Harman Kardon Soundsystem, Fußmatten aus Velours, das Mercedes-Maybach Chrompaket, AMG Karbonapplikationen sowie tauchpolierte 22 Zoll-Aluminiumfelgen.
Dieser am 30. August des gleichen Jahres zugelassene Über-G gelangte im Januar 2021 in den Besitz des Einlieferers, der im Dezember 2021 einen Service bei Mercedes-Benz München durchführen ließ. Zum Zeitpunkt der Drucklegung zeigt der Tacho nur abgelesene 278 km an. Zum Fahrzeug gehören die Betriebsanleitung und andere Bordbücher. Im August 2022 brachte Spezialist XPEL einen Schutzfilm im unteren Karosseriebereich auf. Dieses hier angebotene Fahrzeug stellt eine seltene Gelegenheit dar, ein Modell des wohl ultimativen G-Wagens zu erwerben.
