  • One of 3,977 examples of the 190 SL built in 1960
  • Delivered new to Germany in August 1960; acquired from Monaco by its France-based vendor in 2013
  • Finished in its factory-correct paint shade of Black
  • Powered by its matching-numbers 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine, which is fitted with the desirable Weber carburettor upgrade
  • Accompanied by fitted hardtop with sunroof and equipped with desirable third seat

On 2 August 1960, this Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was delivered new to its first owner in the Botnang district of Stuttgart—just across the city from the marque’s famous Untertürkheim factory, where this model was made. It is not known for how long the car resided in its native Germany but by 1997 it was registered in the principality of Monaco, where it remained until being purchased by the consigning owner in 2013. Upon acquiring the 190 SL, the vendor sourced factory build data from Mercedes-Benz France (available to view on file), from which the listed serial numbers today verify the fitment of the matching-numbers engine. The motor breaths through the desirable Weber carburettor upgrade.

In the care of the consigning owner, the 190 SL has been maintained with regular, documented upkeep. The car was subject to anti-corrosion treatment by Carrosserie Lecoq in November 2024, had selected brightwear re-chromed in July 2025, and at the time of cataloguing was in the process of having its bumpers refinished. The Mercedes-Benz is accompanied by a rare hardtop with sunroof and is fitted with the desirable third seat positioned sideways behind the two front seats.

This glamorous roadster awaits its next owner for top-down motoring in the summer months.
