  • 604bhp 6.0-litre V12-engine
  • Dry stored between 2006 and 2021
  • 2nd owner and just under 50,000 kilometres from new
  • Numerous desirable options including sliding roof
  • Recommissioned with no expense spared and maintained impeccably (serviced annually)
  • 'On the button' and ready to be enjoyed

The revived brand's new dawn commenced in 2002 with the launch of the Maybach 57 and 62: a brace of high-performance luxury saloons that, inevitably, incorporated a good deal of contemporary Mercedes-Benz technology. The model designations were derived from their approximate lengths: 5.7 metres in the former's case and 6.2 metres in the latter's.

An enhanced version of the 57 - the 57 S, for 'Special' - was launched at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show and featured a 6.0-litre, 604bhp V12 from the group's Mercedes-AMG division. According to Autocar magazine: "Incredibly, it is not so much the engine's massive power that gives the 57 S its character, more the endless reserve of torque, which swells to 738lb/ft at just 2000rpm to provide the Maybach with devastating off-the-line and in-gear acceleration." A base price of €381,250 ($417,402) ensured that only a privileged few would get to experience the 57 S's stupendous performance at first hand.

This ultra-exclusive modern Maybach was delivered new to its first owner in March 2006. Ordered in Baltic Black with black-piped Aspen White interior, the latter trimmed in 'Dynamischer Luxus' leather, the car was bought by our vendor, only its 2nd owner from new, in 2021 after the car had been stored practically from new with just 8,400 kilometres on the clock.

Since acquisition the Maybach has been completely recommissioned with no expense spared. The car was checked from top to bottom by recognised specialists at a cost of €17,000 (see invoice). It was also professionally polished by a specialist and received a protective coating. The alarm was upgraded, a tracking system built in, and four new tyres fitted. According to the vendor the car is damage-free, scratch-free and stone-chip free. Always kept indoors, the Maybach has been serviced annually in the Netherlands and treated like a precious jewel (see bills). Particularly worthy of note is the piano black lacquer and carbon interior: a rarely seen combination and very contemporary! The sliding roof was a very expensive accessory at the time.

The owner has not been afraid to put kilometres on the clock, as that is what the car was intended for in the first place. He uses the Maybach weekly for special meetings such as those of the AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) and the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands, and The Merode in Brussels. Every year the car goes to Monaco for two months in the summer where it is used by the owner as a limousine to attend galas and dinner parties, lunches at the Hotel de Paris, and dinners in Villa de Rothschild in Cap Ferrat. Registered in the Netherlands the car comes with its original service book and the aforementioned invoices for work carried out.

Maintained impeccably, the Maybach is 'on the button' and ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker seeking extreme luxury when travelling from A to B, at a fraction of the price when new.
