When De Tomaso acquired Maserati in 1976 plans were made to combine the prestige of the Maserati brand with a sports car that would be more affordable than the traditional Maserati range. The Bi-turbo was a successful seller and brought Italian sports prestige to a wider audience. The Bi-turbo was not your average saloon car, instead it had the underpinnings of a real prestige sports car. The 2.8 litre aluminium V6 engine was broadly based on the 2.0 Litre Merak engine. This engine had in turn been based on the design of earlier V8 Formula One Maserati engines.

We are told that this car was originally delivered new to Hong Kong in 1989, this rare 430 Bi-turbo was imported into the UK in 2000. It was then used mainly during the summer months and spent just 3 years on the road before being put away into dry storage, until the current vendor purchased the car. This car is a 430 SE and as a result has the later SE style bumpers, side skirts and wider wheels. The luxurious interior is in fantastic condition and shows little sign of use. All the electronic equipment functions correctly, including the electric seats and climate control.Producing 255bhp the powerful 2.8 twin turbo V6 engine can propel the car to over 150 mph. Mated to the engine is an automatic transmission which is a welcome addition in such a comfortable grand touring sports car.

When the car was brought out of storage by the vendor, he underwent a full detailed service before the car was put back into use. This included a new cam-belt, A/C belt, power steering belt, alternator belt, engine oil, oil filter, air filter, diff oil, gear box oil and a general tune up. As a result of this work, the car drives superbly and the vendor has covered over 3000 miles in the car in the last few months..

Presented in lovely original condition the car even retains the original spare wheel, and vinyl cover, and the original tool kit

If you are after a rapid classic car that offers real world practicality and value for money then look no further.
