The 4200, with its sublime naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8 producing 390 hp, was available with the optional "Cambiocorsa" automated gearbox. With paddle shifters on the steering wheel and no clutch pedal, it offered four driving modes: Normal, Auto, Sport and Low Grip. This extraordinary car, designed by Giugiaro, reached 285 km/h and accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Our example was first registered on 4 April 2003 and delivered new by the Italian dealership C.D.P. in Perugia, as evidenced by its service book. Its current owner, a great enthusiast of the marque, acquired it in September 2016, when the car had 50,000 km on the clock.
At the time, it had just received a full service carried out by specialist Colombo Challenge, which was offering the car for sale. A certificate in the file confirms that the engine and gearbox oils were changed, the complete clutch was replaced, as was the flywheel bearing. The hydraulic gearbox pump, which had not been replaced during that service, was changed in July 2018 by the Maserati dealership in Annecy. With fewer than 55,000 km on the clock, this coupé is particularly well preserved.
It sports an elegant, understated livery: its metallic "Grigio Touring" paintwork is paired with an all-black leather interior enhanced by precious wood trim. Naturally, it comes with its manuals and boasts desirable features such as electrically adjustable memory seats, cruise control and the famous "Skyhook" adaptive suspension. Offered here with no reserve, our 4200 GT has plenty to appeal to enthusiasts of this increasingly sought-after model.
