430/350hp overhead valve V8 engine, automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, wishbones, live rear axle with leaf springs, 4-wheel hydraulically actuated drum brakes and 131' wheelbase. The new Mark III was bigger and more expensive than the comparable Cadillac, resulting in low sales of only 3,048 units, which has made the convertible particularly beloved among collectors today. There is no doubt that the mammoth Lincoln makes a bold statement about the company and the times. A true work of art.
