Some of the enticing traits of the Lincoln Continental Mark III are its authoritative and individual styling that made it stand out as a top-flight luxury choice for this period in America. Everything about it was distinctive; the styling, the luxury, the performance and ride. Power front disc brakes were standard, as was “Sure-Track,” the first computer-controlled anti-skid braking system. The engine was the 460-cid V-8 (with automatic) that was unrivaled in its class for its responsive power. The on-board timepiece was much more than an ordinary clock; it was a true chronometer from Cartier.

This is reported as a very original and beautiful example of the classically-designed Lincoln Continental Mark III. It has been refinished in the original burgundy color in 2008 by its California owner, and shortly thereafter won first in class at an unspecified car show. The paint is complemented by its original black vinyl roof and the equally magnificent original saddle leather interior. The car displays approximately 57,000 miles that are noted as actual.

The car is stated to be equipped with “all conceivable luxury features,” including cruise and climate controls, original AM/FM stereo radio, rear defogger; power windows, seats, door locks, mirrors, and antenna. It is also fitted with nearly new (within 2,000 miles) Michelin whitewall tires and drives beautifully. The Michelin brand (according to period advertising) happens to be the tire company that the car was supplied with when they were new.

The car is said to have full provenance and service records since 1981, and they are present with the car along with its original owner’s manual and owner correspondence with photo albums. Since the Lincoln was purchased in February 2012, the car has been well-maintained and cared for in a significant collection on the east coast.
