The original 1948 Land Rover was ingeniously designed and engineered for extreme capability and strength. It was the product of continuous evolution and refinement throughout the 1950's and 1960's with improved stability and a tighter turning circle and was a period in which Land Rover took the lead in the emerging market for four-wheel drive vehicles. Originally registered on 5th April 1967, this Land Rover has been restored by the knowledgeable vendor. A new galvanised chassis has been fitted and the axles have been rebuilt. The 2286cc diesel engine started immediately when requested and appeared to run well. The paintwork has been refreshed and four new tyres have been fitted. This soft-top 88” Land Rover is a very good example of a 52 year old robust and highly durable vehicle.
