The 1994 Land Rover Discovery 1 ES featuring the 3.9-litre EFi V8 and automatic transmission represented the high-water mark for the first-generation Discovery's luxury and power. Introduced as part of the 1994 facelift, this model replaced the older 3.5-litre engine with a more potent fuel-injected V8 and debuted the optional ZF 4-speed automatic gearbox.
