This svelte coupé on a short chassis, designed by the legendary Italian styling house Pininfarina, originally sported the aluminium overhead-valve, 1½ litre flat-four engine although this was later upgraded to a more sporty 1.8 litre unit. It was mounted ahead of the front wheels providing a drive with plenty of torque. The servo-assisted disc brakes gave the Lancia Flavia exceptional braking combined with front wheel drive performance making it a very advanced vehicle from its time. This left hand drive example of Pininfarina’s penmanship was declared registered and used overseas from 1964 onwards. It is the larger 1.8 Litre derivative with manual gearbox.
It was imported into the UK in 2001 and Mr. Colin Joy of Lewes then acquired the car in 2005 before selling it, and six other Italian classics, onto the vendor in 2011. It last passed an MoT test in Southwark in October 2006. It has been stored in a Sussex barn for the last seven years and aches for the gentle caress of a sympathetic restorer. The car rolls freely and will be fitted with new tyres in advance of the auction
