Considered by many as the last real Lancia, this modern, sleek example was built on ‘progressive collapse’ principles to ensure safety for all occupants. The interior was luxurious with high-quality materials used such as pleated headlining, Veglia instruments, Jaeger clock and push-out front quarter light windows making for a driver-focused layout. Indeed, the Flavia 2000 Coupé was one of the last Lancia models developed before Fiat took control making it a cherished classic amongst enthusiasts today.
Owned by a classics collector, stored and cared for along with the rest of his collection in a temperature and humidity-controlled warehouse, it is presented in the original white coachwork which is in excellent order and repainted by the previous owner, with a black leatherette interior, requiring some attention in places and sporting a twin-spoke (anti-splinter) wood-rimmed steering wheel, albeit showing some light varnish damage.
Used sparingly but regularly, it has recently undergone some recommissioning work by Lancia specialists Tranc Barratt with bills in the last three months, totalling over £3,000 to cover work on the engine and electrical systems to ensure it is running and driving well. The history folder is extensive and contains not only documents relating to this specific car but also a series of magazines relating to the marque in general as well as the original Flavia technical data manual and owners book. More recently, the steel wheels have been refurbished and the chromework throughout polished, indeed so confident in the car’s abilities that the vendor will be driving the car to the auction.
