Lamborghini has long held the Huracan as a perfect blend of technology and design. Part of the challenge in styling the Huracan was to create a car that would be unmistakably Lamborghini, even when seen in the dark. Viewed as a shadowy figure in a noir setting, the rake of the nose, the arc and flow of the roofline, the low and wide stance all signify a certain familial design trait. To enhance the image, a unique LED lighting system was added to highlight the Huracan while lending a nod to futuristic, technologically advanced engineering.
Interestingly, aside from exhibiting obvious Lamborghini design characteristics including modern illumination, the Huracan’s design was inspired by the hexagonal forms of the carbon atom, many notions of which are subtly blended into various areas inside and out of the Huracan. Like many Lamborghinis, the model name hails from a courageous fighting bull, Huracan, which fought a stunning battle in 1879. This 2017 example has rolled just over 2,000 miles, according to the odometer. It’s finished in Grigio Lynx with black wheels and green brake calipers, and the two-tone Nero and Verde Fawn interior is a stark contrast to the dusky exterior.
Powered by the 5.2L/580 HP FSI VVT V-10 engine and 7-speed automatic transmission, the Huracan will blast from zero to 60 MPH in just a tick over 3 seconds and top out somewhere just north of 200 MPH. While that’s spectacular indeed, Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., long celebrated the driver’s car, a vehicle that could be driven as comfortably around town as it could across long stretches of highway at great speeds, and the engineers sought to instill this in the Huracan.
As such, the independent double-wishbone suspension, massive ventilated disc brakes, wide tires and more all seek to provide a superbly planted ride, while supportive seats, power accessories, dual-zone air conditioning and the latest technological and entertainment edifices make any journey more enjoyable.
